I would like to welcome you to the web page of the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Control (DQA&C) of King Ceasor University. The DQA&C is the focal point for both External and Internal Quality Review (QR) preparations. Moreover, DQA&C plays a pivotal role in introducing quality assurance activities in the context of education, especially to achieve the mission of the University “To provide a holistic education through inventive teaching, learning, and research aimed at fostering socio-economic transformation.” by supporting the University to incorporate quality dimensions into its activities. To achieve that, the DQA&C has been involved in a number of evaluations of staff, students and stakeholders especially with the Institutional Self Assessment. The DQA&C also conducts meetings with its stakeholders in order to streamline the practices. For more details, please do not hesitate to contact us if you still need some clarification.
At KCU, the DQA&C ensures that the departments follow the policies and various guideline in execution of their operational and strategic levels. Currently the University has 25 policies including: Community Engagement Policy, Counselling and Guidance Policy, Academic Standards Policy, Admissions Policy, Alumni Policy, Credit Transfer Policy, Curriculum Review Policy, Fees Policy, Financial Manual Policy, HR Manual Policy, Benchmarking Policy, Gender Policy, Open Distance and E-Learning Policy, Quality Assurance Policy, Research Policy, Sexual Harassment Policy, ICT Policy, Academic Handbook Policy, Mentorship Guidelines, Policy, Exam Policy and Guidelines, Disabilities Policy, Gender Policy, Research Agenda, Research Code of Ethics, and the KCU Fire Safety Policy
To maintain staff’s attendance registry in King Ceasor University.
To ensure & collect information on teaching activities in various schools and departments.
To monitor the statues of services in the university.
Undertaking DQA&C related surveys and evaluations.
To liaise with HoDs of various units in the performance of all the above.
To collect the report from the various faculty administrators and compile, submit to the Human Resource officer through the Director Quality Assurance & Control
Assist in implementing quality assurance activities and programs of the University.
Participate in the development and management of the departmental database.
Distribute and collect student’s lecturer evaluation forms and compile the data collected.
Provide administrative and clerical support to the quality assurance office.
Perform any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time.
1. Formulate quality assurance policy guidelines for the University,
2. Develop instruments for monitoring institutional operations of the University;
3. Conduct periodic internal reviews;
4. Build capacity for quality assurance within the University;
5. Organise regular sensitisation workshop for all staff to promote an understanding of quality assurance processes;
6. Monitor, guide and provide advice on QA activities to all sections of the University.
King Ceasor University is a registered member of Uganda University Quality Assurance Forum (UUQAF)
Currently KCU has a functional QA committee to strengthen planning and implementation of Quality Assurance & Control activities mainly learning and teaching, research and community outreach. This committee is comprised of all members representing the Schools and Departments, Academic registrar and Estates department.
