Bachelor of Nursing Science (Completion program Duration 3 years)

Eligibility for admission into the BNS Completion Program:

Uganda Nationals:

• A candidate must possess a diploma in nursing or midwifery or both.
• Present a valid practicing license from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
• The institution from which such a qualification was obtained, must be recognized by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Must present satisfied copies of academic documents from their previous schools/Institutions

International Students:

• Must present satisfied copies of academic documents from their previous school/ Institutions, which are equated by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
• Present a valid practicing license from the Professional Council of the home country.
• Students speaking other international languages should have a Certificate of English competence test.

Requirements for transfer from other training Institutions to KCU

• The candidate must spend a minimum of 60% of the training time at KCU.
• Prior to admission on BNS Completion program, each candidate shall produce the relevant academic documents before he/she is considered
• A recommendation from the previous Institution he/she is transferring from

Duration of the Programme

BNS Completion Programme shall take a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years.

This programme follows a semester system. Each semester will be 17 weeks (15 weeks of teaching and two (2) weeks of examinations). Therefore, the duration of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) Completion programme shall be equivalent to six (6) semesters.

By the end of the training, graduate nurses shall be eligible for registration by the professional Nursing Councils of their countries.
