Prof. Dr Mobolaji Oludara

Professor of Surgery - Nigeria

Dr Mobolaji Oludara is Professor of Surgery & Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the Lagos state University College of Medicine & Teaching hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. He trained at the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria graduating with MBBS in 1982 and Post graduate fellowship was at the Lagos University Teaching hospital, Lagos where he bagged fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons FWACS in 1992. Further training and experience took him to the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Egypt, India & South Africa. A diplomate (in Laparoscopic Surgery) of the University of Strasbourg, France ( under IRCAD).

He is a pioneer Surgeon in the team that commenced Open Heart surgery at LASUTH in 2004. He also pioneered Laparoscopic Surgery in LASUTH (2011). His main research and service focus include Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies, Appendectomies and diagnostic laparoscopies apart from Surgical oncology and trauma as well as Thyroid Surgery amongst others. He is Chairman, Lagos state Goiter control program and the train the trainer for the Lagos state breast cancer awareness and control project. Academic work profile extends from serving as Anatomy demonstrator at the University of Ibadan, Visiting Lecturer 2 in Surgery at the University of Maiduguri, Lecturer 1 (Surgery) at the Ogun State University before joining the Lagos State University as Senior Lecturer (Surgery) in 2003.

He became Associate Professor in 2014 and Professor in October 2017. Currently He is the Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences. He is currently Chairman Lagos state branch of the Society for Gastroenterology & Hepatology in Nigeria ( SOGHIN) as well as the National publicity secretary. He speaks English, French & Yoruba.
