VICE CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE

I trust this message finds you well. It is with great pleasure that I extend my congratulations to the Muslim community for the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al Fitr celebrations. Today, I am writing to address several critical matters that have a significant impact on our institution and the student community.

First and foremost, it has been brought to our attention that certain students are engaging in unethical practices that compromise the integrity of our academic programs. It is imperative to note that academic dishonesty is a serious offense that may lead to severe consequences, including expulsion from the University. Therefore, I would like to remind all students to avoid any form of cheating during examinations and to maintain the academic standards of our institution.

Secondly, as a globally recognized institution, we greatly value the diverse academic backgrounds of all our students. In light of this, we kindly require that all students with foreign qualifications have them assessed and equated by Uganda National Examinations Board and National Council for Higher Education and submitted to the admissions office.

Lastly, I would like to emphasize the importance of timely payment of tuition fees by all students to prevent any unnecessary interruptions to their studies.

In conclusion, our institution’s reputation is built on academic integrity, excellence, and adherence to high standards. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that these values are upheld at all times. Let us work together to promote a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and mutual respect.

KCU to be represented at the Data Science Africa (DSA) in Kigali

We are proud to announce that one of our very own, Raymond Nuwagaba, will be attending the upcoming Data Science Africa (DSA) event in Kigali, Rwanda. Raymond is a System Administrator at King Ceasor University, and we are thrilled that he has been selected to participate in this prestigious event.

The DSA event, which will take place from May 8th to 12th, will be a great opportunity for Raymond to learn from some of the brightest minds in the field of data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning. He will be exposed to cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and best practices that are shaping the industry today.
Raymond’s attendance at the DSA event will not only benefit him as an individual but will also have a significant impact on King Ceasor University.

As we all know, the field of artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly important in various industries, including healthcare, finance, and education.
Raymond’s experience and knowledge in artificial intelligence, combined with the new insights he will gain at the DSA event, will be beneficial to our university. He will be better equipped to integrate artificial intelligence into our systems, which will enable us to make better decisions, automate tasks, and provide personalized services to our students and staff.

Moreover, Raymond’s attendance at the DSA event will give King Ceasor University a competitive advantage in the field of data science. As we continue to grow and expand our ICT department, having staff members who are knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest technological advancements will be crucial to our success.
It is worth noting that Raymond has been involved in various projects in artificial intelligence, such as Deep Learning for Cervical Cancer Screening and Automatic Segmentation of Prostate Lesions from 3D Multiparametric MRI Using Deep Convolution Neural Network. These projects demonstrate his expertise and experience in the field, which he will undoubtedly leverage at the DSA event.

We are confident that Raymond’s attendance at the DSA event will have a positive impact on King Ceasor University, and we look forward to the new knowledge and skills he will bring back to our institution. We wish him all the best and look forward to hearing about his experiences at the event.

Warm greetings from the School of Geoscience, Mining and Petroleum! Are you looking for an exciting and dynamic field of study that combines Science, Technology, and business? If so, the School of Geoscience, Mining, and Petroleum at King Ceasor University is the right fit for you. Our school offers a range of programs designed to prepare students for careers in the Geosciences, mining, and petroleum industries. Our programs include BSc. in Petroleum Geoscience, Oil and Gas Management, and Geospatial Intelligence. 

One of the unique features of our programs is the emphasis on practical/ hands-on learning, our students have the opportunity to work with real-world data and software used by industry professionals, giving them a chance to gain practical experience with cutting-edge technology. This experiential learning approach ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to tackle real-world challenges and make meaningful contributions to their chosen industries.

Our faculty members are leaders in their respective fields, with expertise and experience that spans the geosciences, mining, and petroleum industries. They bring their industry knowledge and research expertise to the classroom, ensuring our students are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills required to succeed in these rapidly evolving industries.

In addition to our world-class faculty and hands-on learning approach, our programs offer a range of unique features that set us apart from other schools. For example, our BSc in Petroleum Geoscience program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources, emphasizing the integration of geoscience and engineering principles. Our Oil and Gas Management program focuses on the business and management aspects of the petroleum industry, preparing students for careers in areas such as finance, operations, and marketing. 

Our Geospatial Intelligence program uses cutting-edge technology to provide students with a deep understanding of the use of geospatial data in decision-making processes. The School of Geoscience, Mining and Petroleum partners with the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), the Department of Geology and Petroleum Studies, Makerere University, and other organizations such as Big Solutions Ltd, Tarn Energy Services Ltd, and Hared Petroleum Ltd, to train our students in internship programs.

Upon graduation, students will have a range of career opportunities available to them, including roles in exploration and production, environmental consulting, finance, operations, and more. With the skills and knowledge gained through our programs, our graduates are well-equipped to make meaningful contributions to their chosen industries and help shape a more sustainable future.

KCU Participates in the Malaria Walk organized by the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Malaria.

Community Awareness

KCU medical students together with the Lions Club of Kampala and the Parliament of Uganda participated in a walk against malaria on the streets of Kampala with the goal of creating awareness in the war against malaria. 

During the walk, Our students showcased their acquired skills by providing complimentary medical checkups to the participants and the general community which included general patient examination, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, blood donation, eye exams, health education, free HIV counseling, and testing, and dispensing of essential medicines.

In his speech the deputy speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda hon. Thomas Tayebwa stated that Malaria affects the Ugandan economy significantly as the country loses more than Shs 2.4 trillion per year and kills about 52 Ugandans per day.

Since then, the school has grown significantly and has become a key player in the country’s emerging oil and gas sector.

The school’s curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to operate in the extractive industries. The program provides students with a solid foundation in the fundamental principles of geology, geophysics, mining, and petroleum engineering, as well as exposure to the latest technologies and tools used in these industries.

One of the key advantages of the School of Geoscience, Mining, and Petroleum at King Ceasor University is its location in Uganda, which provides students with unique opportunities to gain practical experience in the oil and gas sector. The school has partnerships with several oil and gas companies operating in Uganda, which allows students to participate in internships and gain hands-on experience in the industry.

In addition to its academic program, the School of Geoscience, Mining, and Petroleum at King Ceasor University also conducts research in the extractive industries. The school’s research focuses on addressing the challenges facing the sector, such as environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The school’s research outputs are disseminated to the industry, policymakers, and the general public, contributing to the development of the sector in Uganda.
